Operations Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to support both Production and Warehouse Operations at Diannes Fine Desserts (a Dessert Holdings company) in Newburyport, MA . This role will focus on leading and supporting change within the warehouse team, emphasizing process establishment, improvement, and standardization to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Salary: $70 85K (+ bonus)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations in the warehouse and support production activities as needed.
- Implement and support warehouse processes, material flow, inventory control, and receiving/shipping procedures.
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and foster a safety-first, high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and internal food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
- Utilize Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies to boost productivity.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inventory tracking using ERP systems.
- Support onboarding, training, and development of warehouse and production team members.
- Participate in audits, root cause investigations, and CAPA processes.
- Support shift coverage and plant performance by flexing into production leadership duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma required; technical, engineering, or relevant degree preferred.
- At least two years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with FDA or USDA regulated operations.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, Kaizen).
- Good communication skills, hands-on attitude, analytical mindset, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and climb steps.
- Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; assistance required for heavier weights.
- Good eye-hand coordination.
