Our facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts, has an opening for a 1st Shift Receiving Team Lead . Hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday .

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Support and guide Shipping/Receiving Selectors in all dock functions, including trailer inspections, temperature checks, lot number verifications, and safe loading/unloading practices.
  • Utilize the Salvo System and complete all required paperwork.
  • Coordinate and ship daily overnight shipments via AIT and UPS.
  • Train and develop team members on specific tasks such as pallet inverter operation, FIFO, receiving, shipping, and others.
  • Address personnel concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Lead process improvements, drive cost savings, and foster team development.
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Create and support projects to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge of all departmental jobs and be able to cover all positions as needed.
  • Run open order reports for receiving and verify receipt accuracy.
  • Maintain daily Finished Goods and Packaging Cycle Count Program, including spreadsheets and adjustments.
  • Conduct physical inventories.
  • Coordinate freezer selector activities, including order picking, rotation, and cleaning.
  • Manage pickups and deliveries with drivers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions in JD Edwards, DSI, and other systems.
  • Adhere to plant HACCP plans and participate in GFSI/FSSC22000 audits.
  • Follow all GMPs and perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in safety programs, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Communicate with carriers and offsite warehouses regarding delivery schedules.
  • Support coordination of deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • Attend meetings and support cross-departmental collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year college/business degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of warehouse experience.
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification and skills.
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards, DSI, and MS Office.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Excellent organization and delegation skills.
