Line Chef Full Time Position (37.5 hours/week) with some weekend availability at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing, Springfield, MA. Summary: To provide all customers, both internal and external, with an exceptional dining experience while striving to exceed expectations. Delivers quality food and services by performing culinary tasks including food preparation, bake, broil, saut, braise, roast, poach, steam and fry both hot and cold food items, cooking and cooling food items while adhering to established food safety requirements. Responsibilities
Prepare and cook hot and cold food items while following recipes, ensuring taste, temperature, portion control and plate appeal. Receive, store and rotate departmental supplies; maintain production, prep and pull logs; adhere to food safety logs (heating/reheating, FIFO, cooling). Maintain mise en place and comply with departmental policies and procedures including HACCP, safety regulations, CARF/CCAC guidelines. Operate dishwashing equipment; clean and sanitize work areas; use chemicals safely and follow sanitation procedures. Work harmoniously within a team; assist with resident and guest functions, activities and promotions; promote resident rights and independence. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: 2 years culinary experience. Skills/Competencies: Ability to follow written/oral instructions; problem-solving in standard situations; read, write and speak English; relate well to residents, staff and visitors; reliable attendance; willingness to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
