CNC Applications Engineer with expertise in Citizen Swiss-style and Miyano lathes. You'll support quoting by evaluating all aspects of the machining process and work with the shop floor to drive process development and improvement. About the Role: Applications & Quoting:

Apply your expertise to evaluate customer specifications and generate accurate quotes, factoring in all machining processes, materials, and labor requirements. Machine & Process Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve setup challenges and machine operation issues to maintain optimal production flow and minimize downtime. Programming & Optimization:

Write, modify, and optimize CNC programsfocusing on tool paths, speeds, and feeds to maximize machine efficiency and precision. Process Development & Improvement Design and implement robust machining processes for Swiss-style CNC lathes. Identify and execute opportunities to eliminate or reduce secondary operations such as deburring and tumbling. Tooling & Collet Fixture Design:

Select the most effective tools, collets, and fixtures tailored to each job's specifications to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Quality Assurance Collaboration:

Partner with the Quality Control team to define inspection steps and quality control standards that guarantee final parts meet all tolerances and customer requirements. Operational Involvement:

Actively participate in cross-functional operations discussions, contributing insights to enhance production, workflow, and team alignment. 100% Onsite Role:

This position requires full-time, onsite presence to support hands-on collaboration and immediate production support. About You: 2-Year Technical Degree in CNC Programming or Engineer Applications In-depth knowledge of f programming and operating CNC lathes such as Citizens, Tsugami, Star, etc. Reading and taking blueprints from paper to production through programming, set-up, and quality inspection. Working in a high precision machining environment High aptitude in mathematics US Person qualified No felony convictions Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Swiss-style CNC lathe setup, programming, and operation, ideally in a production environment Strong proficiency with CNC programming (G-code) and knowledge of CAM software. Familiarity with various Swiss lathe brands such as Citizen, Tsugami, and Star. Experience and understanding of CNC Machine Tool controls, servo systems and mechanical concepts Ability to work inside the machines when needed. Why GMI?
