UX Designer delivers end-to-end projects for software, hardware, and websites for platform development engineers, game developers, and consumers. Makes beautiful, polished designs that are based on sound reasoning and understanding of user needs.

Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders to define requirements, use-case scenarios, and design goals of projects

Translate design concepts and business requirements into user stories, user journeys, storyboards, process flows, and wireframes that lead to intuitive user experiences optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

Translate wireframes into prototypes and design mockups that leverage a user-centered design approach

Conform to style guides

Implement advanced interactive prototype

Create both high-level, exploratory prototypes and detailed design specs that be implemented by engineering teams with minimal ambiguity

Define and implement standards for clean and functional user interface

Balance technical and schedule constraints when delivering designs with complex requirements and tight deadline

Arrange and lead ideation session

Utilize research to validate design solution

Articulate user experience design issues effectively to build consensus around design thinking with peers and stakeholder

Establish and maintain a Developer Tools Design System to ensure consistency and ease of use across developer-facing applications and tools

Perform competitive research and analysis to include in design recommendations

Present design concepts and deliverables to stakeholders

Deliver detailed design specs to developers

Assist with usability testing and other forms of research to understand user needs and evaluate design concepts

Create and incorporate results from user tests

Keep abreast of the latest changes in industry standards

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and business stakeholders

Coordinate with members of Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL), its subsidiaries, and external partner

Up to 10% travel; domestic and international possible

Qualifications

2-6 years of experience in UX design, UI design, or in a related area

Solid understanding of UX design methodologies and best practices

Proficiency with interface design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Familiarity with engineering and software development practices (e.g., the software development life cycle and related areas of knowledge), particularly as they relate to video game and platform development

Basic understanding of Windows Presentation Foundation is a plus

Familiarity with project management practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, sprint retrospectives)

Familiarity with AI-related trends and techniques that apply to UX design

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, social sciences, or a design-related field

Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Action-oriented to drive results

Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to manage complexity and work in a high-confidentiality environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $88,555 - $132,832 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
