Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with a background in aerospace manufacturing. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs for the production of precision aerospace components that meet exact specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. This role demands expertise in multi-axis machining, tight tolerances, and advanced CAD/CAM software, along with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines used in aerospace part production. Read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards. Program and machine high-precision components from aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, aluminum alloys, and composites. Ensure all programs and machining processes comply with AS9100/ISO quality standards and FAA/aerospace customer requirements. Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and machinists to resolve technical issues and ensure first-pass yield. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup sheets, and tool lists in accordance with aerospace traceability requirements. Perform first-article inspections (FAI) and coordinate with Quality Assurance for approval. Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction, cost efficiency, and maximum tool life while maintaining quality. Provide technical guidance and support to CNC machinists on setups and tooling. Qualifications
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, CATIA, GibbsCAM, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code programming and multi-axis machining. Deep understanding of aerospace tolerances, GD&T, and first-article inspection processes. Experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and documentation practices. Hands-on experience with advanced tooling, fixtures, and machining techniques for exotic materials. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement mindset. Preferred Education & Experience
Associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering. 5+ years CNC programming experience in aerospace manufacturing. Experience with 5-axis machining centers, multi-axis lathes, and high-speed machining. Familiarity with CMM inspection and aerospace quality tools. Seniority level
