It will be for the greater Houston, TX territory, and candidates will need to be in the area or commutable distance. No relocation, as they want candidates to have a book of business in the area so they can hit the ground running. It is a remote role with travel as needed (within the area or occasionally to the clients home office in Brentwood, TN, which is just outside of Nashville, or to one of the manufacturing plants or to attend a trade show / conference). Overview Territory for this position will be the Greater Houston area

Candidates must have a book of business in this area. Local or commutable candidates only. The Territory Sales Manager Building Wire will serve as an integral part of the Building Wire sales team. The role focuses on executing strategies that drive long-term sales performance, exceeding sales and profit goals for the Building Wire product line, and acting as the brand representative within the defined territory. It requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure goals and objectives are executed. This is a hands-on sales role with no direct reports and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. Responsibilities Execute and exceed Building Wire sales. Develop the market by creating a strategic go-to-market strategy for the identified territory, including SWOT analysis, target accounts, distribution strategy for the region. Develop a strategy to identify and execute conversion opportunities for all Residential Electric Contractor (REC) accounts within the defined territory. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive brand awareness and product adoption. Continued prospecting and account development activities to drive account conversion and sales with EBITDA impact. Develop a matrix of inspector communities (AHJs) within the area to identify regulatory restrictions. Collaborate with the company to address each area of restriction with favorable outcomes. Create industry awareness by attending local and regional trade shows and events; serve as a speaker or provide technical articles when applicable. Drive sales and stocking programs with strategic distributors. Conduct lunch-n-learns and educational forums at local and regional distribution locations. Support and attend local distribution trade show opportunities as needed. Work cross-functionally within the Building Wire organization to share best practices and exceed product line goals. Stay up-to-date on applicable codes and regulations; retain membership in trade organizations as applicable. Serve as a brand ambassador within identified trade communities and collaborate with local manufacturers, trade, and regulatory representatives to promote the brand. Support product development by assisting Sales and Marketing with literature, website support, and technical/commercial presentations. Provide progress updates to the Executive team and collect required data for review. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Experience selling wire used in residential construction. 3+ years of sales experience in the electrical industry (selling to home builders, contractors/developers, electricians, electrical contracting companies). Needs a book of business with such customers. Note: If candidates only have experience selling directly to distribution, they will not be considered for this role. If they work for a distributor of wire and have a book of business and interactions with the end customer user, that is acceptable. Experience working in an Electrical Contractor capacity or with electrical contractors is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and experience with an ERP system strongly preferred. CRM experience required. Ability to create regional Marketing Plans; plan and organize cross-functionally. Analytical and creative mindset, problem-solving, adaptability, and a can-do attitude.
