Overview
Structures Design Leader (Moving I-4 Forward) position with AtkinsRéalis within the FDOT Corridors Program Office (CPO) in Celebration, FL. This embedded role reports to the office 5 days per week and supports the Moving I-4 Forward program, one of the highest-profile projects in the state. The project involves collaboration with engineers at the CPO, FDOT, and other teams across the state. Responsibilities
Provide professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of diverse infrastructure projects. Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria. Coordinate with a diversified project team, including client communications, proposal coordination, marketing, presentations, and management of other discipline-related activities. Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals; ensure finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. Meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements for the desired scope. Review junior staff work for technical accuracy, provide guidance, and perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects. Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments; serve as the team expert and/or project lead; lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams; manage a small team of direct reports as applicable. Qualifications
Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and a minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances. Proficiency in production software and construction document production. Ability to address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound, professional, and business-like manner. Experience on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects; ability to provide technical guidance to junior staff, including reviewing others’ work for technical accuracy. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other stakeholders. What We Offer
