This role will work with a team of engineers at the CPO, FDOT, and other offices around the state to deliver the Moving I-4 Forward program.

Responsibilities As part of the infrastructure team, you’ll serve an integral role by providing professional engineering consultation in planning, design, and coordination of diverse projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria.

Coordinate with a diversified project team, including client communication, proposal coordination, marketing, presentations, and management of other discipline-related activities.

Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals; ensure finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction.

Meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements for executing the desired scope.

Review junior staff’s work for technical accuracy and provide technical guidance to other professionals and technicians.

Perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects.

May review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments; serve as team expert and/or project lead; lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams; and/or manage a small team of direct reports.

Required qualifications

Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing.

Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.

Proficiency in production software and construction document production.

Strong ability to address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner.

Experience on major projects or multiple moderate-size projects with ability to provide technical guidance to junior staff, including reviewing others’ work for technical accuracy.

Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other stakeholders.
