Senior Project Engineer with experience in Division of the State Architect (DSA) projects, specifically within K12 public school construction. This role requires a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented professional who can confidently manage project documentation, subcontractor coordination, and technical field support on complex public-sector jobs. Summary of Senior PE DSA / K12 Projects California Seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer with experience in DSA projects, specifically within K12 public school construction. The ideal candidate has a clear understanding of DSA requirements and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role works closely with project management and field leadership to ensure compliance with DSA regulations throughout planning, construction, and closeout. The Senior Project Engineer will oversee other project engineers, contribute to design and cost reviews, and help drive successful project delivery from preconstruction through final DSA certification. Role Information

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years focused on DSA K12 projects Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred Working knowledge of DSA inspection protocols, documentation standards, and closeout processes Familiarity with California public works procedures, Title 24 energy code, ADA accessibility standards, and DSA bulletins Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Google Workspace Experience working with DSA inspectors, consultants, and public agency stakeholders Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team structure Responsibilities

Lead and support all engineering efforts across multiple DSA-regulated K12 construction sites Manage and coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, inspection documentation, and field reports Ensure all construction activities align with DSA-approved plans, specifications, and code requirements including Title 24 and ADA Support DSA closeout process, including completion of IRs, FCDs, and CCDs with timely resolution of outstanding items Oversee and mentor junior engineers to ensure project controls and documentation are accurate and complete Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, architects, inspectors, and client representatives Attend OAC meetings and provide technical input during construction administration Review subcontractor scopes, track procurement, and manage material/vendor coordination Monitor schedule and budget impacts related to technical issues, design changes, or DSA field directives Analyze alternative construction methods and support value engineering efforts Contribute to a positive and collaborative project culture built on accountability and clear communication California Applicant Privacy Notice
