Overview
We are seeking an HL7 Implementation Specialist to join our growing Interoperability team. This individual will play a key role in planning, implementing, and supporting HL7 interfaces between Abbadox systems and external partners. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of HL7 standards, healthcare workflows, and the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions. Responsibilities Lead and support HL7 interface implementations from planning through go-live. Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather requirements and design interface workflows. Configure, test, and validate HL7 interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, etc.). Troubleshoot interface issues and provide timely resolutions. Document interface specifications, workflows, and implementation details. Provide training and support to end-users and clients on interface functionality. Work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience with HL7 interface implementation and support. Strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards. Experience with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, etc.). Solid understanding of healthcare data workflows (ADT, lab results, orders, scheduling, billing). Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SQL or database queries. Knowledge of EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, etc.).
