Overview
Application Programmer Analyst III Ancillary & Speclty Epic Full Time, 1.0 FTE. Provides IT applications support for Catholic Health facilities, identifies and implements software solutions for business and/or clinical needs, and serves as a technical liaison. Requires understanding of business/clinical processes and technical systems; role performed at intermediate complexity with minimal supervision. Responsibilities
Install and maintain systems; diagnose, resolve, and document problems. Provide technical and functional analysis, system building, and testing. Prepare specifications and documentation related to systems. Support specific projects and bring vendor software solutions to CH customers. Serve as a liaison between staff and IT; support the integration of technology with business and clinical processes. Education
Bachelors: minimum five (5) years of job experience in computer science, business or healthcare field Associates: minimum six (6) years of job experience in computer science, business or healthcare field Minimum eight (8) years of experience in lieu of a degree Experience
Intermediate computer experience with personal computer applications and larger systems Previous healthcare information systems support experience strongly preferred Project management experience desired Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to patient care (e.g., JCAHO, NYSDOH, HIPAA, OSHA) for clinical team candidates; proficiency with patient care processes across the continuum of care Clinical team candidates may have related healthcare specialty experience (Nursing, Med Tech, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy) Industry certifications recognized with preference Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications Intermediate skills with Microsoft networking, Microsoft Server, and Web-based application delivery Intermediate skills with Wireless Networking, Distributed Networks, Remote Computing, and Communications technologies Excellent organizational and analytical skills Ability to establish good working relationships with hospital staff at all levels Knowledge of systems analysis concepts, techniques, tools, and standards Broad or deep systems knowledge of assigned application groups with related integration understanding Strong project and system documentation track record Ability to analyze and anticipate impacts of changes in a complex environment Ability to facilitate discussions and decision making, including small project management Ability and means to travel among CH sites; may require travel to vendor training and user events (air travel and overnight stays outside of WNY) Ability to complete required training and certifications pertinent to software support Access to confidential information and handling of regulated content (PHI) is constant Working Conditions
