As a

Project Manager

at GHD, you will mentor and guide the team and take the lead in environmental emergencies, collaborating with clients and agencies to ensure effective response and resolution. Your role will extend beyond project management to include business development and client expansion activities, applying your experience in environmental engineering, geology, or related fields. With 5+ years of project management experience, including a proven track record in emergency response, client relationship management, and business development, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to our team. You will conduct environmental sampling and monitoring, spearhead regional visibility initiatives, and help drive environmental stewardship and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Join GHD FIRST (GHD Fast Incident Response Services Team) to contribute to turnkey, 24/7/365 incident response and management services across North America. Responsibilities

Accountable for one or more medium-sized projects of low to moderate complexity with a small- to medium-sized team; create project vision and planning documents; manage implementation, reporting, and performance to deliver on time, within budget, and to scope. Document preparation: prepare moderately complex documents using standard office software; gather and summarize data for reports. Stakeholder management: plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective working relationships and meet stakeholder needs. Personal capability building: participate in assessment and development planning, pursue relevant accreditation, and stay informed of technology, regulations, and best practices. Continuous improvement: contribute to reviewing operations and generating ideas for improvements. Work scheduling and allocation: assign short-term work schedules to a team to meet timelines. Project assurance: conduct assurance reviews, coordinate with independent third parties, and resolve issues to ensure delivery. Project scope definition and planning: define deliverables and produce workstreams or project plans aligned with the PM framework. Project reporting and review: draft reports and presentations with key information and recommendations. Project resource management: manage resources, forecast costs, and report variances. Risk and issue management: identify risks and issues; develop and implement solutions; escalate as needed. Closeout and handover: support documentation and training for business-as-usual handover; capture lessons learned. Project team management: lead a small project team, coordinate tasks, and mentor team members. Requirements management: elicit and analyze requirements; document and manage them through the project lifecycle. Willingness to respond to call-outs during non-routine hours and act as the first point of contact for clients on new emergency projects with the ability to delegate and request support from the GHD FIRST team. Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field. General Experience: 36 years of experience; managerial experience supervising junior colleagues (712 months). Experience in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, and PHMSA; railroad and pipeline emergency experience a plus. Additional information
