General Manager in Training - Sacramento, CA
General Manager in Training (GMIT) program at Cinemark. This fast-paced, hands-on journey prepares you for a leadership role at a high-volume theatre. Youll work with experienced General Managers and the Cinemark Service Center (CSC) team to learn theatre operations and make a real impact daily. Youll lead, problem-solve, and grow, gaining the skills to become a successful General Manager. You may serve as acting GM when needed. The program includes a 9-week immersive training at a designated theatre within a region, and relocation within the region may be required after successful completion to take on a GM role as opportunities arise. The role is available in Sacramento, California, and the surrounding areas. Flexibility is key. Responsibilities
Leadership Development Participate in a comprehensive training program focused on building leadership abilities and preparing you to run a top-performing theatre. Guest Experience Create unforgettable moviegoing moments by maintaining a clean, welcoming, and guest-focused environment. Team Leadership Recruit, train, and develop a strong team; coach employees, drive performance, and foster a supportive workplace culture. Business & Financial Savvy Learn to manage budgets, analyze financials, control costs, and drive revenue to meet goals. Operational Excellence Manage day-to-day operations from film and labor scheduling to inventory management and equipment maintenance. Safety & Compliance Ensure a safe and secure experience by following company and regulatory guidelines. Hands-On Experience Serve as Manager on Duty when needed and undertake special projects to support growth. Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old (21 where alcohol is served); high school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 3 years of theatre management experience. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and teams. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail. Commitment to exceptional customer and guest service with a friendly, energetic attitude. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment; responds with urgency and follows directions. Proven ability to train, lead others, and resolve conflicts professionally. Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with individuals of all ages and personalities; English proficiency required. Ability to complete basic food handling training and obtain required local/state certifications (e.g., SERV Safe, health card, or food handlers permit). Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; must work at least 40 hours per week. Physical and Environmental Requirements
Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre. Noise level may be moderate to high at times. Be able to stand for extended periods of time. Benefits
