$110,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the design and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department. Perform regular maintenance of Linux systems, specifically RHEL 8 & 9, Ubuntu. This position will work with the developers and QA group for our point-of-sale system. Experience with Hypervisors (Hyper-V and VMware). Support the installing and build out of applications as needed on RHEL systems. Install new or upgrade existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DNS & Firewalls. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure high availability and performance. Write or modify scripts to resolve performance problems and automate systems administration tasks. Maintain and write system documentation. Must have solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. May need perform or assist identifying problems. Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems, event investigations and compliance enforcement. Provide monitoring and primary response and intervention for information technology related security incidents and violations. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Manage and maintain Red Hat Satellite Server. Manage and maintain Ansible. Support Devops group with Docker and Podman. Support Devops group with Nginx and Apache servers. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Experience with some type of Configuration Management tools. Experience with Red Hat Identity Management (IDM). Basic understanding of AIX. Knowledgeable on IBM Hardware knowledge of Power 8s Power 9s Power 10s. Knowledge of storage technologies, such as RAID, SAN, and NAS. Familiarity with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL). Understanding of web servers and related technologies (e.g., Apache, Nginx). Education and Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent or 2 years of related professional experience. Experience in developing and implementing large scale, complex, highly available Infrastructure architecture that supports critical business applications. 7+ years experience with administration of Unix/Linux Environments. Experience with monitoring tools, SolarWinds is a plus. A thorough understanding of and experience with computer-based systems and associated networking architectures. Our ideal candidate will have: experience working with large complex projects; experience with Linux and/or other Unix systems, Storage Area Networks (SAN), security compliance, SOX, PCI, NIST, 2+ years experience with RHEL in a virtualized environment. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and have the ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be willing to work irregular shifts when need arises and provide on call coverage in a 24/7 environment. Seniority level
