As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for deployment, migration, implementation, and administration of databases and support of all database environments and related applications on on-prem and Azure SQL Databases. You are responsible for performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, backups, error checks, and replication and work directly with other teams to triage and troubleshoot escalating issues. You install, configure, maintain and patch SQL Servers, test backup/recovery, replication, failover, and disaster recovery, deploy new database and code per change requests and provides troubleshooting and support including after-hours support. Hybrid work arrangement: 2 days per week on-site at our Chicago location; other days may be remote. How will you succeed
Database Administration: Manage SQL Server Databases, Azure SQL databases, instances; Backup and restore on-prem and Azure SQL databases; Also managed instances; Monitor SQL Agent jobs and respond to critical job notifications on failure. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production systems; escalates issues and facilitates resolution. Automate common management tasks using PowerShell. Evaluate data access and security to ensure data resources are available to those who need access and protected. Automates database management tasks. Collaboration: Works with application support and development teams including architects and developers to ensure project success. Assists in project planning and management with clients and other staff; creates documentation and maintenance plans, monitoring threshold values. Who you are / Qualifications
8+ years of experience in SQL Database Administration with relational databases. 1-2 years of experience on Azure SQL; knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory is desired. Experience with backup strategies, replication, and DR solutions for SQL; monitoring and tuning MS SQL Server databases for optimum performance; deep knowledge of indexes, index management, statistics, and performance tuning. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent is preferred. Microsoft Azure Certification is desired. Basic PowerShell and Python knowledge or any other scripting language; familiarity with SQL Integration Services, Postgres and Oracle is an asset. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $135,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location. Eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus.
