EECRC seeks an experienced and culturally responsive
Project Manager
to: Lead the planning, research material development, coordination, and implementation of this grant-funded initiative. Oversee community engagement, data collection, and reporting while ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
This role requires a leader who is deeply committed to equity, environmental justice, and immigrant community empowerment. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Oversight Manage day-to-day operations of the
Building Resilience
project. Ensure project goals, deliverables, and timelines are met in alignment with the approved workplan. Supervise and support outreach workers, contractors, and volunteers.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Recruit, train, and coordinate community outreach workers. Facilitate culturally responsive engagement strategies (surveys, focus groups, participatory mapping, stakeholder interviews). Build trust and collaboration with African and Afro-Caribbean immigrant and refugee communities.
Research & Data Management
Oversee development and quality assurance of data collection tools and systems. Compile and analyze findings on air/water quality, disaster preparedness gaps, housing hazards, and health disparities. Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
Partnerships & Collaboration
Serve as primary liaison with local agencies, policymakers, and environmental justice partners. Coordinate advisory committee meetings and integrate stakeholder input. Align community findings with broader regional emergency preparedness and environmental justice efforts.
Reporting & Accountability
Prepare progress reports, presentations, and the final Environmental Justice Action Plan. Track outputs and outcomes as outlined in the grant performance measures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and philanthropic grant requirements.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelors degree in Public Health, Environmental Studies, Emergency Management, Social Work, or related field
(or equivalent professional experience) . Experience managing community-based or grant-funded projects. Knowledge of environmental justice, public health, or emergency preparedness. Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Commitment to work with immigrant and refugee communities in a culturally responsive way. Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, and partnership skills. Must have a valid drivers license, reliable personal vehicle, and insurance to travel for community surveys, site assessments, and data collection activities.
Preferred : Multilingual proficiency (Amharic, Tigrinya, and/or Oromo). Familiarity with federal or state grant management, compliance, and reporting. Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers.
