The Bilingual Resource Program Coordinator II (Confidential Advocate) provides direct one-on-one advocacy support to students harmed by dating/relationship violence, sexual violence, and stalking at Portland Community College (PCC) as part of Hope Services. This position will work with a small advocate and prevention team with varying responsibilities to ensure equitable access to advocacy services for all students at PCC. To achieve this, the Bilingual Confidential Advocate will work closely with both PCC and community partners to provide supportive services and resources that are trauma informed and culturally responsive to students harmed by violence. Additionally, in collaboration with team members, this position will develop and facilitate outreach and training events to PCC students and partners on a variety of topics.

This position will take the lead in serving Latin survivors by providing advocacy services in alignment with culture and language. Although Latin survivors are the priority for this position, the scope of survivors served will not be limited to this identity alone, nor will this position be the only advocate serving survivors with this identity.

We are very excited to welcome a new member to our team of dedicated staff and to continue to grow in our equity work together. What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For

Duties and Responsibilities: Provides confidential advocacy services to students experiencing dating/relationship violence, sexual assault, and stalking including: safety planning, crisis intervention, emotional support, information and referral to college and community resources, and advocacy throughout internal (Title IX) and external (criminal) complaint and remedy procedures that are rooted in trauma informed and survivor centered philosophies.

Provides Spanish language confidential and culturally specific advocacy as outlined above as appropriate.

With the Hope team, coordinate training and support needs for collegewide peer education student leaders related to their work on topics of dating/relationship violence, sexual violence, and stalking that is rooted in social justice.

Assists with development and facilitation of marketing and outreach campaigns - website updates, informational handouts, posters, events, tabling, etc. - with particular emphasis on culturally and linguistically relevant information designed to improve outreach and services for underserved and marginalized populations.

Collecting and entering data in support of project evaluation and grant reporting requirements.

Participates in relevant college committees/work groups related to policies, procedures and protocols that impact survivors, such as Title IX, care and conduct interventions, public safety response, etc.

Establishes and maintains relationships with community partners and relevant agencies to provide culturally responsive, comprehensive information, appropriate referral, and seamless support for survivors.

Assists with coordinating and providing training for multiple college stakeholders to improve trauma-informed and positive response/advocacy for survivors.

This position will have an office on the Cascade office though will travel to all campuses based on student need. Travel between campuses are eligible for mileage reimbursement.

Supports Program Director to fulfill programmatic activities and objectives.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications including how you would plan on developing these skills as needed. Experience providing bilingual, confidential, and culturally specific support services to community members who have experienced trauma who are from diverse academic, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including those who experience disability, are trans/queer, are a person of color immigrant/refugee.

Demonstrated experience responding to community members in crises using trauma-informed and person centered practices.

Experience providing culturally specific outreach and coordination of activities as well as the ability to effectively communicate to large groups/mass marketing.

Demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice.

For the purpose of this position, experience coordinating services include the following: Scheduling or coordinating client/participant advocacy appointments;

Coordinating services to clients/participants in the following ways: safety planning, crisis support, access to resources, advocating on their behalf, resource referral and more;

Developing and/or facilitating training and outreach event;

Developing and distributing outreach material and information;

Collaboration with community partners to improve access and support for the people you serve.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Multicultural Studies, Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Social Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Two years of experience in a diverse setting coordinating services or programs, to include one year of experience specific to the population served in the area of assignment.

Bilingual language proficiency in Spanish

How We Determine Initial Salary Placement

Minimum $66,831.00 to range midpoint of $69,171.00. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
