DevOps Engineer at Axos Bank
This position is on-site and located in San Diego, CA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Centennial, CO; Omaha, NE; Overland Park, KS; or Edison, NJ. No remote or hybrid option is available.
Axos is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a highly motivated team to perform cloud environment management, continuous integration and deployment based on Kubernetes architecture, and to support applications.
Responsibilities
Design and Develop GitHub Actions for CI/CD Develop and maintain reusable, modular GitHub Actions workflows to automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple repositories in GitHub Enterprise Enforce consistency and quality by adopting workflow standards and templates organization-wide Implement GitHub Advanced Security features including Code Scanning (CodeQL), Secret Scanning, and Dependency Review Automate remediation of security findings via GitHub Actions and monitor findings across repositories using organizational-level insights Migrate CI/CD Pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise, including rewriting pipelines as GitHub Actions and aligning repository structures Coordinate with development teams to ensure seamless migration with minimal disruption to delivery cycles Develop and manage Azure DevOps Pipelines (Legacy and Hybrid) Maintain and optimize existing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, particularly for services still using RHEL 9 build servers with Docker-based builds Design hybrid integration patterns between Azure DevOps and GitHub during the transition Automate DevOps processes using Python for pipeline orchestration, drift detection, audit reporting, and API integrations with GitHub, Azure DevOps, and monitoring tools Containerization and build optimization using Docker Build and maintain Docker images for application deployment on RHEL 9 build servers; optimize Dockerfiles and container configurations for performance and security Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes (OpenShift/EKS) Deploy, configure, and monitor containerized workloads on Red Hat OpenShift or AWS EKS clusters Linux proficiency for troubleshooting and automation; use Bash and PowerShell for deployment automation and system management Monitoring, logging, and observability integration using Prometheus and Grafana; automate alerting and health dashboards Support Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent for provisioning build and runtime environments Cross-functional collaboration with software developers, security engineers, SREs, and infrastructure teams Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 2+ years with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) 1+ year working with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub), focusing on creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Actions) Experience automating tasks using PowerShell (Windows) and Bash (Linux) Familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack Benefits
