GEI has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer I/II (Structural) seeking experience in the design and construction of dams, levees, and other hydraulic structures to support the Denver offices Dams and Water Resources business. The successful candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a focus on collaboration while providing technical, quality, and safety assistance on projects and pursuits. The Civil Engineer I/II (Structural) will work with an interdisciplinary team that includes civil, geotechnical, hydrologic, and hydraulic engineers to complete structural engineering tasks and develop appropriate designs for water supply, flood control, storage, and hydroelectric projects. Under supervision of senior staff, the Civil Engineer I/II (Structural) will be responsible for producing and/or reviewing engineering analyses, reports, construction drawings, specifications, and other deliverables. Responsibilities Support evaluation and design efforts for structural steel, reinforced concrete, dams, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures, including preparation of calculation packages. Work on preliminary through final engineering designs; develop design recommendations and produce design deliverables; serve as a project structural engineer supporting the structural lead and/or engineer of record. Perform engineering construction oversight of heavy civil, structural, and other types of projects. Prepare and present technical presentations of evaluation results to internal teams. Support data management and analysis, technical report development, and assist in preparation of technical presentations and proposals to clients and regulators. Coordinate with the Design and Project Management Team to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field, required. Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Structural Engineering or closely related field, preferred. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation, required. 0-2 years of previous professional experience in civil engineering. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills. Experience with standard structural analysis programs including STAAD, SAP2000, and LS-DYNA preferred; Lusas and/or LS-Dyna preferred. Experience with design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Revit, preferred. Willingness and ability to perform field tasks and oversight. Willingness and ability to travel as needed; valid U.S. drivers license. Willingness to work in the field year-round and in inclement weather.
