Overview
This Senior Wireless Engineer role at V2X Inc. is a technical leadership position focused on the planning, design, implementation, and sustainment of secure wireless network systems. The role supports enterprise mobility, smart base initiatives, and high-availability communications, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards, frequency regulations, and performance objectives. The position is located at Buckley SFB and is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of architectural vision for Wi‑Fi access points and related services across the network. Plan optimal Wi‑Fi designs for spectrum usage and device placement; follow standards for all designs and implementations. Install, configure, and maintain wireless network equipment, management, and security, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac and best practices for high-density Wi‑Fi solutions. Collaborate with vendors, managers, and network engineers to devise, deploy, and improve wireless networks from concept to deployment. Provide guidance to junior engineers; manage assigned tasks as a self-starter. Assess client requirements to tailor solutions; use testing and diagnostic tools to evaluate and adjust wireless products (routers, switches, hubs, bridges, VPNs, etc.). Design and validate RF link performance, quality, and reliability; design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks. Create, maintain, and update network documentation and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and utilize enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk). Optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with network engineers to enhance network operations. Develop and implement policies; manage access controls to protect network systems and ensure proper equipment connectivity (servers and other network products). Support RF link performance, reliability, and quality; enable data and system protection with backup and retrieval mechanisms. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure optimized performance of VoIP and other wireless telecommunications devices; work with security teams to evaluate threats and ensure compliant configurations. Design and deploy changes to client configurations per change management processes; proactively handle security solutions and use testing tools to assess equipment. Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
Technical BA/BS degree; or High School Diploma or Associate Degree; CWS, CWDP, or equivalent. Experience / Skills:
7 years with BA/BS; or 10+ years as a Wireless Engineer on large, complex networks with a High School Diploma or Associate Degree. Clearance:
Active DoD Secret (Tier 3) clearance required. Skills:
