Overview
Lead Technical Architect position in Maryland (USA) and Virginia (USA). This role leads and delivers complex, secure enterprise solutions for federal and defense clients in a high-impact, mission-critical environment. The Lead Technical Architect will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based HR and business systems, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, security frameworks, and operational objectives. You will serve as a key technical liaison, guiding cross-functional teams while translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. This role requires hands-on expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Accountabilities
Serve as the primary technical liaison between federal customers, internal teams, and engineering partners Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based enterprise solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices Develop and manage secure, scalable configurations and integrations, including analytics, reporting, and data conversion strategies Translate business requirements into technical designs that meet federal and intelligence community standards Support security authorization processes, including FedRAMP and ATO documentation requirements Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, security, and integration behavior across platforms Guide delivery teams on best practices in security modeling, reporting, data management, and platform extensibility Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR IT, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure to ensure technical alignment and compliance Stay current with platform feature releases and emerging federal technology trends to inform ongoing development Qualifications
Active TS/SCI security clearance Residency in the DMV area with ability to go on-site as needed 7+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture or technical implementation within federal, intelligence, or DoD environments Hands-on experience with Workday or similar enterprise SaaS platforms, including Integrations, Security, Reporting, Extend, and Prism Deep understanding of federal security frameworks such as FedRAMP, RMF, and ATO processes Proven cross-functional leadership experience with cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance teams Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field Preferred: Workday certifications (HCM, Extend, Security, Prism), Agile or SAFe certifications, prior federal/defense delivery experience, and Master's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related discipline Benefits
