The Elections Division supervises elections in Colorado, supporting 64 counties in planning and executing elections that comply with federal and state laws. Within the Division, the projects and data support team manages projects, performance metrics, strategic planning, data analysis, data visualization, and process improvements to enhance Division programs. Position:

Elections Data Analyst The Elections Division is recognized as a leader in administering elections. You will be part of a high-functioning team, with a focus on data analysis and visualization. Responsibilities

Support the Division through collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data Support the Division through designing, editing, and visualizing GIS data Maintain confidentiality of voters information, personnel information, and other confidential data; comply with State and Department policies Duties include: Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to identify data needs and reporting requirements Conduct advanced analysis on large and complex datasets from multiple sources (including SCORE, ballot access, election night reporting, surveys, county cost forms, GIS data) Apply statistical methods, data mining, and predictive modeling to extract insights Use data to identify inequities and inform program decisions Prepare reports and summaries of analytical findings for diverse audiences Design data visualizations and graphics to communicate findings Design and edit GIS data; coordinate with SCORE and other teams for data needs Minimum Qualifications This position requires a total of 5 years of professional experience and/or education in a related field. Applicants must meet one of the following options: Five (5) years of professional experience in data analysis, validation, and visualization Combination of related education and experience totaling five (5) years; an unofficial transcript may be attached Preferred Qualifications and Competencies include: Experience with state service related to the work Data analysis, data mining, cleansing, transformation, and validation GIS data design and editing Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Access, etc.) Data validation, Agile methodologies, and collaboration with stakeholders Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication Experience with election processes and relevant software tools If you possess any of the above knowledge, skills, and abilities, include details on your application.
