TEKsystems is currently seeking an IP Network Engineer with strong Nokia experience for a 100% Remote 1 year + contract with opportunity for extension and permanent conversion. 10+ years of relevant enterprise Network Engineering experience required with Design, MOP (Method of Procedure) creation, ISIS, MPLS, BGP and OSPF. Additional Skills & Qualifications include Cisco CCNA / CCNP, Nokia NRS I / NRS II, Brocade BCNE / BCNP, Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS. Responsibilities

Engineer II, IP Engineering position is expected to provide engineering design and implementation services necessary to support the company's IP/MPLS core network, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and/or video transmission services. Provide technical leadership and escalation support for various operations and engineering groups as well as technical training and mentorship to team members. Require excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with various internal departments to ensure the reliable operation and growth of a converged and scalable carrier network. Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments. Plan, design, implement, and document new network implementations. Complete Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages as needed. Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams. Mentor more junior staff to support the growth of technical knowledge and experience. As a mid-level engineer, possess a comprehensive understanding of the company's IP/MPLS core network and the skills to independently complete assigned engineering projects with minimal assistance and/or guidance. Develop project management skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining business deliverables for timelines and budget. Demonstrate comprehensive troubleshooting skills to assist operations groups in resolving network issues. Qualifications

Minimum four years of relevant and progressive technical experience in a Carrier Ethernet or large ISP environment. High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications or related field is required. An equivalent combination of work experience and education may substitute to meet total years required. Graduate degree may substitute for professional experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High-level understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, scalability, and security; strong ability to create and edit network drawings using Microsoft Visio; advanced experience with configuration of Alcatel/Nokia, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper routers and switches; advanced understanding of routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.); strong project management concepts; understanding of RSVP, LDP, and PIM; data center network design; transport technologies (Ethernet, SONET, TDM, Fiber, Microwave, Satellite, Wi-Fi, cellular); extensive experience with layer-2 Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG, etc.); strong analytical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills; self-directed and motivated; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively; ability to identify, report, and resolve technical problems per guidelines. Certifications: Industry-specific certifications relevant to the discipline are highly valued and may contribute toward education requirements. Experience level

Expert Level Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
