Staff Software Engineer
to drive the next generation of technology that powers how millions of fans explore, interact with, and attend live events worldwide. You will lead a high-impact engineering team from a technical standpoint, driving key architectural decisions, delivering critical systems that enable trustworthy, scalable, and insightful experimentation across all consumer-facing and internal applications. As a strategic technical leader, youll define architecture, ship robust systems rapidly, and raise the technical bar for your team and across the organization. Youll translate ambiguous business needs into executable strategies, produce detailed work plans enabling parallel engineering execution, and drive measurable improvements in quality, performance, and feature velocity. Youll shape our commercial and product strategy with domain expertise to align user needs with business value. Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) New York, NY or Santa Monica, CA About the team Operations is the group responsible for the post-purchase customer journey for fans, and includes three sub-teams: Customer Success Technology, Fulfillment, and Supply Quality. The team backs every order with technology to ensure a smooth buyer/seller experience and maintains a safe environment for engineers to grow. What Youll Do Craft the technological backbone of the marketplace, engineering seamless experiences that connect people with their passions. Develop software solutions that enhance the scalability and functionality of our global ticketing platform. Leverage architecture expertise to anticipate user needs and shape robust systems. Collaborate across teams to pioneer features and services that redefine how people attend live events. Drive continuous improvement by integrating real-world feedback and metrics into development cycles.
What Youve Done At least 10 years of professional software development experience across multiple languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Go. Designing and implementing robust, mission-critical systems. Experience designing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact. Proven ability to learn other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools. Understanding of the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
It Would Be Nice If Experience with large language models (LLMs) or chatbots. Experience with real-time ticketing systems or similar e-commerce platforms. Strong user-centric design thinking and a passion for customer satisfaction. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex problems. Passion for live events.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below. Actual compensation will vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base salary is part of StubHubs total compensation package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, and comprehensive health benefits.
