Plans, operates and controls the admission and enrollment activities of the Admission and Financial Services functions with a strong focus on student-centered services in a continuous quality improvement mode. Areas of responsibility include admissions, registration, cashiering financial transactions related to student fees and student records processing, financial reconciliation of student accounts and other related transactions, recruiting, transitions, student retention and success. Provides leadership in the development and oversight of the departmental budget, financial transactions and reconciliations, campus enrollment management activities, collaborative efforts with student financial assistance, and participates in college-wide enrollment management initiatives. Essential Functions Directs all aspects of the Admission and Financial Services including the welcome center, recruiting, admissions, transitions, general financial aid, registration, and student payments, financial reconciliation of student accounts and other related activities with a strong commitment to student customer satisfaction, quality, and accuracy Supports prospect and applicant conversation efforts including, but not limited to campus events, campus tours, and student communications Manages and monitors the Admission and Financial Services to provide a broad spectrum of accurate information and excellent enrollment services to current and prospective students Develops the enrollment and recruitment plan for the Campus in collaboration with the vice president of enrollment management and campus leadership teams Supervises admissions and enrollment center financial reports including monthly financial reports dealing with account reconciliations and deposit reconciliation Coordinates student enrollment services with financial aid, central financial aid processing center, customer service center, and Executive Director of Enrollment Operations Creates an environment that allows the Enrollment Management Team to have a clear understanding of each others roles and enables collaboration and support in all admissions, registration and financial activities Interfaces with the Student Accounting department and Attorney Generals office regarding issues/problems on student accounts Understands and oversees all financial operations Understands and enforces safeguards of cash, deposit receipts and reviews discrepancies in a timely manner Overall responsibility for the development of work distribution and assignments for all admission onboarding and enrollment services Reviews and tracks systems and processes and makes recommendations for improvement to meet the needs of students and improve service quality and timeliness Oversees the processing of academic records Provides leadership for the interpretation of College procedures Develops area budget, supervises and evaluates staff, and provides required staff development Monitors data integrity, efficiency reports, and reports findings for solutions for accurate student record keeping Knows, understands, and adheres to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulatory requirements, and College policies and procedures Knows, understands, and adheres to internal or external Ohio Department of Education and financial audits Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Masters Degree (Significant related experience may substitute for education) Minimum of five years of experience in higher education administration, specifically in enrolment, admission, or related student services area Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the strategy, management and operations within a department Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Attention to detail, strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently Proficient in intermediate-level Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Understanding of the relationship between enrollment processes and student success Ability to research, analyze issues and develop solutions Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and confidential service environment Ability to work as a member of a student-oriented administrative team Excellent student customer service skills and ability to sustain productive customer relationships Proven ability to effectively manage projects Advanced proficiency in the Banner System Creativity and initiative Knowledge of all student records systems Basic knowledge of general accounting principles Basic knowledge of financial eligibility requirements and processes Sensitivity in responding to community needs
