Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana Store Manager role responsible for leading the store team to generate revenue through daily processing of donated goods and managing a high-volume retail operation with multiple team members to support the mission of Goodwill. Responsibilities
Leads, manages, and motivates store employees to reach production guidelines: a minimum of 110 garments per hour with a minimum quality standard of 90%. Ensures a constant rotation and flow of merchandise to the sales floor daily. Staff the retail store by hiring, coaching, training, developing, and leading the store team. Completes interviews daily, sources applicants, and processes new hire paperwork to staff the store to maintain day-to-day operations. Holds staff accountable through coaching, employee discipline, performance evaluations, training and corrective action when necessary. Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures, conducts drills, submits incident reports for injuries, and monitors building maintenance (including submitting work tickets online as needed). Leads and assists in receiving, pricing, and displaying store merchandise. Opens and closes the store, balances cash registers, reviews Profit and Loss statements, and conducts end-of-day procedures including safe counts, safe audits, replenishing change, and monitoring petty cash usage. Creates and maintains a positive public image of Goodwill through a clean, hazard-free store environment with fresh products daily and a focus on excellent customer service. Performs duties of all store personnel including cash handling, donation processing, sorting, pricing, hanging merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness (including bathrooms and debris). Communicates daily needs with the transportation department and District Manager. Creates work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and that all donations are processed from donation door to production area to sales floor on the same day they are received. Conducts daily store walkthroughs, team huddles, and regular store meetings. Responsible for production, revenue, payroll, and expense budgets and for achieving/exceeding store budgeted goals. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, sets goals/KPIs, and analyzes data on store production, sales, and personnel effectiveness. Maintains a clean and hazard-free store environment. Requires working one Sunday a month, rotating weekend shifts with leadership, and alternating closing shifts with the leadership team as needed. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Some college, leadership training, mentoring, or team building experience preferred. Minimum of five years experience in retail management preferred; minimum of 1-2 years in management required. Background in leading teams in retail sales, production, manufacturing, or assembly preferred. Reliable transportation; must pass MVR check and provide proof of a valid drivers license, liability insurance, vehicle registration, and a current vehicle inspection sticker. Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power BI, and other programs. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Working Conditions
