Overview

The Role:

TIME is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team and help TIME deliver innovative, world-class news experiences on time.com and across all digital products. We're looking for a developer with experience building and supporting front-end application infrastructure, scaling site support systems, and developing architecture that drives fast page load speed, efficient use of data, secure environments and exemplary end-user experiences. Responsibilities

Support and optimize our AWS and GCP hosting architecture for all front-end applications Manage ongoing site hosting, server scaling, and continuous uptime Support content delivery network (Fastly) for complex, multi-environment routing Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, Docker, and CloudFormation Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions Monitor and support security tools including PrismaCloud and WAF Manage DNS through NS1 and domain registrations through MarkMonitor Assist in automating existing processes and executing on-call support procedures Support New Relic monitoring and troubleshoot performance issues Provide SSL certificate management and renewals Manage development, QA, and production environments Collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions for new collections and projects Handle redirect requests and implement CDN/DNS changes as needed Qualifications

Experience building or maintaining AWS and GCP infrastructure Experience monitoring and supporting high-traffic site environments Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Docker, Terraform, and CloudFormation Experience with CDN technologies (Fastly, Cloudflare, or Akamai) Knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions and env0 Strong operational experience in Linux/Unix environments Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, and Bash Familiarity with DNS management and monitoring tools like NS1, BetterStack, and New Relic Understanding of security best practices and experience with security tools like PrismaCloud Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN Experience working with agile software development practices Tools & Technologies:

AWS (EC2, S3, Elastic Beanstalk) GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Artifactory, Load Balancer) Fastly CDN Terraform GitHub and GitHub Actions Docker NS1 (DNS Management) New Relic (Monitoring) PrismaCloud NodeJS Python

Location

The responsibilities of this role may be performed remotely. Remote eligibility will be dependent on the state in which candidates live. We will consider this on a case-by-case basis for applicants who live outside of the New York Metropolitan area. Total Rewards
