Overview
Job Title: Human Resources Recruiter — Lantern Community Services, Inc. | Location: New York, NY | FLSA Classification: Exempt | Reports to: Human Resources Recruitment Manager | Position Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9–5 (hours may vary; must be flexible with scheduling).
Responsibilities
- Identifying future hiring needs and developing job descriptions and specifications.
- Collaborating with department managers to compile a consistent list of requirements.
- Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, applicant tracking systems, etc.
- Conducting interviews and sorting through applicants to fill open positions.
- Assessing applicants\' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.
- Completing paperwork for new hires.
- Promoting the company\'s reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.
- Will complete onboarding for new hires.
- Providing recruitment reports to team managers.
- Other duties as required.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited school required.
- The ability to conduct different types of interviews.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with recruitment processes and databases.
- The ability to follow recruiting strategies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good decision-making skills.
- A standard knowledge of employment law and legislation.
- Preferred: Experience in non-profit or social services.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment. There will be occasional travel to Lantern\'s shelter or supportive housing site locations throughout New York City as needed.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs and/ or kneel. Occasionally the employee will have to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
