Overview
The Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) support team provides diverse administrative support to clients/potential clients, third parties (e.g., merchants, financial institutions, etc.), and employees including Investment Advisors (IAs) and Financial Advisors (FAs) through various media channels.
The Summer Associate will support existing team projects, contribute to process improvements, and learn a high-level understanding of the wealth management support process. Throughout the internship, the Summer Associate will gain knowledge of researching, follow-up, and redirect to support the team's first call resolution methodology.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.
Responsibilities
Shadow team members to provide a venue for the financial services support experience
Collaborate with team members to understand the business process of financial services support
Conduct research on reference material to recommend and apply streamlined enhancements
Collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
Assist leaders with data collection and analysis projects to improve current processes
Identify and track cross-project dependencies and impacts; communicate issues and provide solutions
Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding of records and information
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or another related degree
Basic skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Basic skill interacting with staff, management, members diplomatically & tactfully
Project management or coordination experience
Resourcefulness and critical thinking skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems
Experience using Microsoft Office products to create reports, data compilations, and presentations
