Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team responsible for payroll, benefits, and HR operations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the performance, development, and engagement of team members to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Payroll Management: Manage end-to-end payroll processes for US and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness; implement and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls; lead payroll optimization and harmonization projects within the global framework.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, coordinate open enrollment periods, manage relationships with providers, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • HR Operations and Administration: Oversee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and data management; collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline HR processes and enhance the employee experience; maintain understanding of HR processes, information systems, and governance.
  • Workday Implementation and Integration: Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Workday processes with ADP integration to ensure tax and regulatory compliance; troubleshoot system issues and implement upgrades; co-create and implement process standardization.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial payroll and benefits regulations in the US; monitor changes and implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Project Management: Lead strategic projects related to payroll, HR operations, and system enhancements, including expanding the service model to new countries; develop project plans, allocate resources, and track milestones.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain reporting systems to track payroll, benefits, and HR metrics; analyze data to identify trends and opportunities; provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Workday End-User Support and HR Help Desk: Provide end-user support for Workday, manage the HR help desk, and train employees on Workday functionalities and updates.
  • Employee Experience Initiatives: Develop initiatives to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention; collaborate with HR Business Partners to address employee needs and concerns; foster a positive work environment.
  • 401(k) Finance Payroll Controls and Reconciliations: Oversee 401(k) plan administration, implement payroll controls and reconciliations, and coordinate with Finance for audits; ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Service Reporting & People Analytics GPO: Develop the people analytics approach, standardize data collection and reporting, and implement service reporting frameworks to measure HR operations performance across regions.

As the US HR Operations Lead , you will oversee payroll, benefits, and HR administration, ensuring US compliance regulations. You will manage third-party vendors, including ADP, and lead the implementation and integration of Workday processes with ADP to ensure tax and regulatory compliance and outstanding payroll quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR operations, payroll management, and shared services; experience in a publicly listed company and dynamic startup-like environments is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing payroll managed services - ADP, with Expertise in WorkforceNow and Workday integration.
  • Deep expertise in end-to-end 401(k) plan management within payroll.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma/Lean) and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HR systems, particularly Workday and ADP, including implementation.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; experience with transformation/change management in multi-country contexts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluency in English; French desirable; Spanish highly desirable; other languages are a plus.
