- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit sectors
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR operations at Arise Treatment Center, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, benefits coordination, policy enforcement, and compliance with applicable labor laws and licensing regulations. This position ensures that HR practices align with the mission, values, and clinical integrity of Arise as a patient-centered substance abuse recovery provider.
Skill Sets
- Strong working knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and HRIS systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Effective interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Experience developing and enforcing HR policies and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with payroll or HR management platforms
- Understanding of healthcare workforce dynamics or behavioral health hiring preferred
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Work performed in an office setting within a residential treatment facility
- Requires frequent sitting, typing, speaking, and occasional walking
- Occasional local travel for job fairs, trainings, or partner meetings
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all stages of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies, job descriptions, and performance evaluation tools in accordance with CARF, state, and federal guidelines
- Ensure all employment practices comply with EEOC, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure timely completion of pre-employment requirements
- Oversee employee records management, including personnel files, licensure tracking, and background checks
- Collaborate with leadership to support employee engagement, retention, and performance improvement plans
- Facilitate training programs and monitor compliance with required staff certifications and CEUs
- Respond to employee grievances, mediate conflicts, and document HR actions in accordance with company policy
- Manage employee benefits communication and coordination with third-party providers
- Generate reports for leadership regarding HR metrics such as turnover, training compliance, and hiring pipelines
- Assist in the preparation for audits, licensing renewals, and accreditation reviews
- Serve as the point of contact for HR-related inquiries from staff and leadership
- Maintain confidentiality and a trauma-informed, recovery-centered HR culture
- Other duties as assigned
