HR Manager (Onsite) Minneapolis

Location: Minneapolis, MN, US 55401 | Workplace Type: Onsite | Travel: Able to travel domestically up to 20% within territory

Compensation: Pay range for this opportunity is $97,962 - $117,425. Eligible for bonus participation. Pay rates comply with applicable minimums and are based on factors such as experience, education, and certifications.

Overview

STERIS helps customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions globally. This role delivers and coordinates all human resource activities for the operations group, supports plant management in culture change, talent development, hiring needs, employee relations, and alignment of HR processes with business objectives. This position is based onsite in the Minneapolis, MN Applied Sterilization Technologies location.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, implement, and administer HR processes and programs that improve productivity, competence, and effectiveness of the plant.
  • Consult with business leaders on organizational assessment, succession planning, workforce planning, and change management to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Align HR processes such as talent management, performance management, compensation, and recruiting with business goals.
  • Counsel and coach employees and managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, handling complaints, discipline, and terminations in line with local culture and legal environment.
  • Drive employee engagement and promote a positive culture while balancing employee concerns with company goals.
  • Interpret employee engagement data and help client groups act on insights.
  • Ensure effective talent management and development as the organization grows, including assessing training needs and encouraging continuous development.
  • Assist in hiring by performing recruiting activities in partnership with Talent Acquisition, including staffing coordination and job requisition management.
  • Manage annual performance and salary reviews and variable pay programs.
  • Stay up-to-date on US and state employment laws and other HR compliance issues; coordinate regulatory requirements.
  • Understand employment law and diversity/EEOC compliance and promotion.
  • Maintain client group information in HR systems and provide relevant reports as needed.
  • Participate in or lead HR projects focused on continuous improvement of core programs and services.
  • Act as liaison to Benefits to manage leaves of absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience
  • 2+ years of HR management experience within a plant environment

Preferred

  • HR experience in large, public, multi-state, and multi-national companies
  • Manufacturing, operations, and/or distribution centers experience

Skills

  • Ability to translate business strategies into organizational and HR actions
  • Comprehensive HR experience, including full HR function exposure (preferably global)
  • Process improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, PPI, etc.)
  • Experience working across a complex organizational matrix
  • Track record of driving programs that contribute to growth and profitability while enhancing culture
  • Strong relationships across stakeholders and trusted advisor
  • Self-motivated with bias for action
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong multi-tasking and prioritization
