Title- Associate Designer- Women’s Contemporary- knitwear
Location: New York, NY- Hybrid
Salary $70,000- $75,000
Our client, a well-established Women’s Contemporary Brand is searching for an Associate Designer focusing on sweaters and knits for immediate hire. Must have a contemporary aesthetic designing knitwear. Develop and create a vision for new product line assortments by collaborating with the cross-functional team. Strong CAD a technical experience is a plus. Collaborate with the team with design concepts and building product assortments.
Responsibilities:
Design and development for knitwear, and woven's
- Support the placement strategy and follow-up by recommending product placement
- Participate in design strategies and execution for knits, and woven's
- Involved in all product development and sales meetings projecting future fabrications
- Work with the design team and management to develop time and action calendars for programs
- Prepare trend boards for management meetings
- Manage product integrity and order specifications compliance.
- Approve lab dips, new fabric developments, and the general flow of the process
Qualifications
- 2 plus years of experience in apparel design
- Tech pack knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of knit fabrics, and sweaters
- Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Problem-solving abilities in meeting deadlines.
- Microsoft Office Programs
- BA Degree
