SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs, research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results Designs, implements and tests/sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency Represents manufacturing on cross functional teams QUALIFICATIONS
Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span Management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including layout, assembly and production equipment Product development experience Quality orientation and attention to detail Problem analysis and problem resolution Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong team player Ability to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stress Solid decision making skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred. Computer assisted design proficiency. Computer proficiency. The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals. Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment. REASONING ABILITY

Lifting: Occasional, up to 50 lbs. Standing: 8 + hours per day Walking: off and on, 4-6 hours per day Body positions; squatting, bending, extending arms, stooping, reaching overhead Grasping: both hands up to 4 hours per day Sitting: Occasionally Pushing: Occasionally Climbing: Occasionally Availability to travel 50% or more WORK ENVIRONMENT
