What You Will Spark At Amplify
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Validation Lab Manager to join our team. The
Validation Lab Manager
will be responsible for establishing and managing a comprehensive battery cell validation laboratory. This includes developing testing protocols, coordinating testing activities both internally and with external labs, and ensuring that battery cells meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of battery testing standards and a meticulous approach to data management and reporting. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the setup, commissioning, and maintenance of a battery cell validation laboratory, including equipment selection, installation, and calibration. Develop and implement standardized test protocols for battery cell performance, safety, and reliability testing, based on industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, UN 38.3) and customer requirements. Manage and execute internal battery cell testing, including performance characterization, cycle life testing, abuse testing (e.g., overcharge, short circuit, thermal shock), and environmental testing. Coordinate testing activities with external testing laboratories, ensuring that tests are performed according to agreed-upon protocols and timelines. Develop and maintain a robust system for managing and tracking test data, ensuring data integrity and traceability. Analyze test results, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings to relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct failure analysis of cells that fail validation testing. Manage the budget for the validation lab, including equipment purchases, maintenance, and external testing costs. Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, providing training and guidance. Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical), or a related field. 5+ years of experience in battery testing and validation, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or management role. Deep understanding of battery cell testing standards and methodologies, including performance, safety, and reliability testing. Experience in setting up and managing a battery testing laboratory. Strong data analysis and reporting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
