Overview A fast-growing battery technology company designing and scaling next-generation cell and electrolyte products for commercial and government customers. They are looking for an experienced engineering leader to own product-focused cell and electrolyte development and the testing/qualification programs that sit between R&D and customers.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role: you’ll lead a team that moves chemistry from lab prototypes into manufacturable, customer-ready cells — shipping validated product and driving NPI execution end-to-end. You’ll partner closely with R&D, manufacturing, operations, and sales to meet technical specs, timelines, and quality targets. Responsibilities
Lead engineering efforts across product development, electrochemical and safety testing, shipment qualification, and customer technical support. Own product-focused cell and electrolyte development and the associated testing/qualification programs between R&D and customers. Manage a team to move chemistry from lab prototypes to manufacturable, customer-ready cells and drive NPI execution end-to-end. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical specifications, timelines, and quality targets. Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical discipline. 10+ years in battery engineering, cell development, or energy storage product engineering — hands-on experience with liquid electrolytes or production cell engineering (pouch/coin/prismatic) required. Proven people manager with experience building and scaling technical teams (must). Demonstrated track record of delivering products through NPI and driving cross-functional execution between R&D and customers. Strong technical knowledge of electrochemical testing, battery cyclers, safety testing, and lab instrumentation. Experience with DOE, data analysis, and data-driven product decisions. Experience interfacing with customers and presenting technical material to varied audiences. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, Trello) and data analysis tools (Python, JMP or equivalent). M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. Experience in product scale-up environments. Direct experience with electrolyte formulation, polymer electrolytes, or liquid electrolyte systems. Familiarity with regulatory and shipping standards for batteries (UN 38.3, IATA/ADR). Background in customer-facing technical roles or sales engineering. Base pay & Benefits Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr – $220,000.00/yr. Equity / long-term incentive participation.
