About the Role
As a Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales and Profit goals in the store by executing a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience in the department and overall store. The Department Supervisor will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues. A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities: Customer Sales & Profit You are responsible for supporting the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines. Representing yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions. Be aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths and identifying commercial opportunities and working with your Department Manager to act on them. Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team has the ability to work towards actively promoting and selling products to customers. Follow up that your team is actively promoting our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) & in-store sustainability initiatives. Ensure correct routines in fitting room and checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges. Ensure all admin routines for both people and operations are handled correctly.
Fashion & Trend Awareness Keep up-to-date with fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers. Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge as well as other relevant information during customer interactions.
Team & Development Retain and share your knowledge and skills with the store team. Collaborate, plan, and work as a team with the in-store Visual Merchandiser team. Give & receive feedback with colleagues to learn, develop & support each other. Maintain regular communication to inform, motivate, and inspire store colleagues through daily, weekly meetings, etc. Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all areas of the store are followed.
Retail Operations/ Visual & Commercial Execution Keep the sales floor and back of house, including stockrooms, clean and tidy. Ensure high-quality visual and commercial product presentation with good garment care. Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team. Manage the full garment cycle from delivery to presentation, including fitting room routines, following internal standards and routines, utilizing all tools and technology provided. Follow best practices for in-store OMNI services & tech tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.). Maintain consistent and accurate price signage throughout the store according to guidelines. Update and maintain BOH areas with key information, health & safety standards, and tidiness. Responsible for opening & closing the store daily.
