The primary mission of the EHS Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing an organization's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Their primary objective is to create a workplace that is safe and healthy for people and the planet. They take ownership of workplace safety programs and may train staff on proper procedures to avoid accidents or injuries. They often take a lead role in overseeing the organization's Environmental Management System and would also establish the protocol for how to handle natural disasters that may have an environmental impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic direction for EHS initiatives, fostering a proactive safety culture. Policy Development: Design and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Risk Assessment: Conduct audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate risks. Incident Management: Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and correctives action planning. Training & Communication: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and management. Environmental Stewardship: Oversee waste management, sustainability initiatives, and environmental impact reduction. Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate emergency re-spins plans and drills. Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to enhance EHS performance Participate and organize Safety and Green teams, Monthly meetings, Earth Day Events. Prepare and submit Site Regulator Reporting: Tier II, Landfill Free documentation and waste stream calculations, ISO 14001 compliance and certifications, air compression leak conservation, all local government registrations and certifications. Participate and prepare the business for Site Environmental Audits. Utilize the Corporate EHStar software dashboard for incident management, environmental impact reporting and record keeping. Establishes, maintains, and communicates program metrics related to injuries and incidents. Includes reporting and liaison with Global EHS Management. Implement and maintain required EHS operational processes to ensure company and employee awareness, comprehension, and adherence to approved environmental, health and safety practices. Conducts oversight EHS and Quality inspections/audits of operations and subcontractors to ensure compliance to contract performance requirements and applicable EHS laws, regulations, and standards. Implements hazardous and environmental waste management programs to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Modifies applicable SOPs and processes as required. Tracks corrective actions taken in response to internal and Customer audit/inspection findings. Provides guidance and direction to achieve compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards and requirements. Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes, literature to work site personnel, and the site Green Team. Provides training and knowledge transfer to staff members and teams as necessary. Monitor the site Environmental programs for waste control, Tier II reporting, water treatment, hazardous waste disposal, landfill free initiatives, utility, and waste reduction efforts. Identify EHS training needs and develop/deliver training materials. Maintain OSHA 30hour Certifications. Perform other qualified duties as assigned. Education:

A relevant degree in EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related field. Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a production environment Certification: OSHA, ISO 14001, CSP, CIH, or other relevant certifications preferred. Detail oriented, rigorous, analytical, reactive, and good interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills utilizing SAP and MS Office Independent, self-motivated Skills/Abilities:

Project Management experience. Strong communication skills able to give presentations and training sessions. Strong leadership and diplomacy Can work well on teams and build strong relationships. Persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills. Open minded and creative problem solver in complex situations.
