Overview:
A global organization in the consumer products sector is seeking a
Sustainability Reporting Specialist
to lead corporate environmental data reporting and drive sustainability initiatives. This role will focus on environmental impact tracking, carbon accounting, and alignment with international sustainability frameworks. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, data-savvy project manager with hands-on experience in corporate environmental reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the organizations annual environmental reporting cycle, including scope 13 carbon emissions and third-party verification Collaborate with divisional contacts and external consultants to gather, clean, and consolidate sustainability data Manage reporting obligations under frameworks such as CDP, GHG Protocol, and ESRS; maintain awareness of emerging regulations and standards Oversee carbon footprint analysis, supporting tools, and inventory management processes Support internal environmental targets, including water risk assessments and science-based targets Act as internal liaison for customer-facing environmental programs and sustainability data requests Contribute to internal and external communications related to sustainability (e.g., dashboards, presentations, web content, newsletters) Provide project support to cross-functional sustainability efforts including packaging, waste, biodiversity, and operational initiatives Monitor performance against key environmental KPIs and suggest improvements to data collection and tracking systems Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus) 5+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, environmental compliance, or ESG reporting Direct experience in carbon accounting and environmental data management Proficient in Excel and capable of analyzing large datasets; familiarity with carbon or sustainability platforms/tools Understanding of environmental frameworks and voluntary disclosure programs (e.g., CDP, GHG Protocol, SBTi, WWF Water Risk Filter) Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate data into actionable insights Preferred Experience:
Previous work in agriculture, CPG, packaging, or manufacturing environments Familiarity with biodiversity, water, or packaging sustainability initiatives Exposure to ESG stakeholder communications or customer-led sustainability programs
