Flight Test Engineer (FTE) for the Air Mobility and Maritime Mission (AMMM) Program

The FTE is responsible for the coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness. This requires control and tracking of aircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of support equipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules, and coordinating with other organizations associated with test readiness. Tasks will also include execution of ground and flight tests. This requires the ability to transfer test procedures into detailed test cards, perform test per procedures in order to obtain test objectives. Must be able to effectively communicate, direct and interact with Flight crew to achieve test success. Understanding of aircraft capabilities, specifically multi-engine aircraft with modern avionics, needed in order to assist in the development of realistic test procedures. Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required. Travel will be required for many test programs. Travel will be both domestic and international. Travel dates and spans are highly volatile in the flight test environment. This position requires willingness and capability to fly on test aircraft and the ability to pass an FAA Class 3 physical. A level 2 employee typically has 2 - 5 years of professional experience. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. What's in it for you? Experience with planning, execution, data analysis and reporting of testing on an aircraft and in Avionics Labs. Experience with aircraft avionic systems and mechanical systems. Ability to work effectively with a team. Desired Skills: Experience/familiarization with C-130J aircraft FAA certification testing Microsoft Office/Teams Project leadership / Control Account Management Earned Value Management Must have a personality and demeanor to handle the highly dynamic environment of flight test, including the always-changing dates and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability for frequent travel. Ability to acquire and retain Secret Clearance. Willingness and capability to fly onboard aircraft and pass an equivalent FAA class 3 medical exam is MANDATORY.
