Flight Test Engineer (Level 2)

Never have the opportunities for a technical career been so limitless.Flight Test Engineer (FTE) for the Air Mobility and Maritime Mission (AMMM) program. The AMMM program consists of the C-130, C-5, P-3 and S-3 aircraft. The FTE is responsible for the coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness. This requires control and tracking ofaircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of supportequipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules, and coordinating with other organizations associated with test readiness.Tasks will also include execution of ground and flight tests. This requires the ability to transfer test procedures into detailed test cards, perform test per procedures in order to obtain test objectives. Must be able to effectively communicate, direct andinteract with Flight crew to achieve test success. Understanding of aircraft capabilities, specifically multi-engine aircraft with modern avionics, needed in order to assist in the development of realistic test procedures.Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required.Travel will be required for many test programs. Travel will be both domestic and international. Travel dates and spans are highly volatile in the flight test environment.This position requires willingness and capability to fly on test aircraft and the ability to pass an FAA Class 3 physical.A level 2 employee Typically has 2 - 5 years of professional experience.**Must be a US Citizen. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
