In this role, you will be part of our
MEP Buildings Sector
as an
Electrical Healthcare Designer / Engineer
working in our Florida offices (Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, or Fort Myers/Naples). Your Responsibilities
Prepare one-line diagrams with limited input from Engineers. Maintain discipline engineering documents for projects. Respond to RFIs and review submittals accurately with limited input. Resolve installation issues on-site related to electrical systems. Proficient in CAD with the ability to work on CAD drawings. Develop electrical floor plans showing device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, and equipment. Perform fault current calculations and coordination studies, implementing proper AIC ratings. Calculate electrical loads and prepare panel schedules. Apply knowledge of NEC and other relevant codes. Understand and implement emergency and normal power systems. Design lighting systems, including photometric calculations and controls. Apply concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, and harmonics. Edit electrical specifications with minimal oversight. Layout fire alarm devices on plans. Develop equipment room sizes during schematic and design development phases. Select and schedule equipment with limited supervision. Coordinate with vendors and other disciplines for electrical and lighting details. Manage project revisions and meet with contractors during bid phases. Understand electrical requirements specific to healthcare applications and relevant standards. Required Experience
3+ years in electrical design for commercial facilities, including healthcare. Experience with SKM Power Tools or similar software for engineering calculations. Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP (REVIT experience required). Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. FE License (Fundamentals of Engineering exam passed).
