Job Summary: Offers live modeling for portraiture, quick and varied gestures and sustained poses in the nude or clothed for art classes. Supervision: The position reports to the Art Coordinator and will receive direction from Art Department faculty and Chairs. Job Responsibilities: Arrives on time, clean and well prepared. Interacts respectfully and professionally with students, faculty and staff. Poses in the nude for drawings and paintings by art classes. Receives basic instruction on positioning such as standing, seated, prone, etc. Performs varied, expressive, dynamic and engaging gestures or quick poses for up to three minutes with little to no instruction. Maintains quality precise positions over long periods of time; minimizes unintended movements. Returns to precise position after breaks. Performs related work, such as NYS required yearly training, as assigned. Job Qualifications: Stamina and experience with proprioception, body control and muscle memory via training in movement, dance, sports or other is required. Previous experience modeling is helpful but not necessary. Work Environment: Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment.
