Applications Database Analyst
GovCIO is currently hiring for an Applications Database Analyst to support our customer, USPS and their Logistics Tech Services Group. This position is fully remote. Responsibilities include: Business Requirements: Analyze and translate business requirements into efficient database designs. Data Modeling: Create conceptual, logical, and physical database models. Database Design Patterns: Utilize common database design patterns. Data Integration: Utilize common data integration techniques. Normalization Techniques: Utilize normalization principles. Indexing Strategies: Implement indexing techniques. Database Security: Use data security best practices. Scalability and Performance: Design database that can scale to handle increasing workloads. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders, developers, architects, and other team members. Qualifications include a Bachelor's with 5-8 years of application database analysis experience (or commensurate experience). Knowledge with the following qualifications is required: Database Skills: Proficiency in database management systems. Data Modeling: Knowledge of data modeling concepts and tools. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot database issues. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL. Database Administration: Familiarity with database administration tasks. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills. Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies, SDLC practices, DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, Solutions Development Framework, Cloud architecture, business process re-engineering principles, and Change Management and Configuration Management. Required Experience Level includes 5+ years' experience in designing large and complex IT solutions in large organizations. Position requires strong leadership and team-building skills. Educational Requirements include a degree from an accredited College/University in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. If resource does not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required. Clearance Required: Ability to maintain a USPS Public Trust clearance.
