Construction & Facilities Project Manager- New Stores
The Construction & Facilities Project Manager New Stores is responsible for managing all phases of new store construction and openings across Cavender's locations. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet Cavender's quality standards to support continued growth. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between Cavender's, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to drive successful new store development. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are essential, with a focus on bringing new stores from design through completion. Duties and Responsibilities Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values Manage end-to-end new store build projects, from site planning and design through construction, inspections, and store opening. Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, landlords, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Oversee project schedules, budgets, contracts, and change orders to keep projects on track and within scope. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and verify compliance with Cavender's standards. Lead vendor selection, negotiation, and management for new construction projects. Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies. Prepare and present regular progress reports to leadership on budgets, timelines, and milestones. Support store operations teams in the successful turnover of new store locations. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of experience in retail new store construction or project management. Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, permitting, and site development. Strong budgeting, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple new store projects simultaneously. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Based in Tyler, TX at Cavender's Home Office; travel up to 50% required. Preferred Skills Experience with retail-focused construction and facilities projects. Familiarity with landlord coordination, permitting processes, and lease agreements. Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and facility life cycle planning.
