Rate & Regulatory Analyst

The Rate & Regulatory Analyst is responsible for supporting rate, rule, and form filings across all Property & Casualty lines, ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations while enabling timely product changes. This role partners with actuarial, underwriting, claims, and product teams to prepare and submit filings, monitor regulatory developments, and respond to inquiries from state Departments of Insurance. This role follows a hybrid work model that includes three days in office, two days from home and could sit in any of our following offices: Presque Isle, ME, Portsmouth, NH, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, or Richmond, Virginia. What You'll Do: Rate, Rule & Form Filings:

Prepare, submit, and manage rate, rule, and form filings across multiple states using SERFF, ensuring accurate documentation and timely approval. Regulatory Compliance:

Track and interpret changes to state insurance laws, regulations, and bulletins, providing recommendations to maintain compliance across P&C products. Cross-Functional Support:

Collaborate with actuarial teams on pricing, underwriting on product changes, and legal/compliance teams on regulatory interpretations. Regulator Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for state regulators during the review process, drafting responses to objections and information requests. Competitor & Market Analysis:

Review competitor filings, rate changes, and industry trends to inform strategic pricing and product initiatives. Documentation:

Maintain an organized repository of historical filings, actuarial memorandums, and supporting documentation. Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline the filing process and develop templates and best practices for filing efficiency. Reporting:

Provide regular updates to leadership on filing status, approval timelines, and regulatory trends. What You Bring: Education:

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Actuarial Science, or related field. Experience:

25 years of experience in insurance regulatory, product management, actuarial, or compliance roles (P&C industry preferred). Knowledge:

Working knowledge of SERFF and state regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Technical Skills:

Strong Excel skills required; familiarity with SQL, policy admin systems (e.g., Majesco), or data visualization tools is a plus. Communication Skills:

Excellent technical writing and ability to translate complex regulatory or pricing information for different audiences. Detail Orientation:

High accuracy and organizational skills to manage multiple filings and deadlines concurrently. Key Competencies: Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Proactive and able to anticipate regulatory needs. Collaborative, working effectively across actuarial, legal, underwriting, and product teams.
