Japanese Bilingual Senior Accountant, Outsourcing Services - Hybrid Work Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid: 2 days in-person, 3 days remote)

The Senior Accountant/Senior Consultant will be responsible for managing various accounting and financial tasks for assigned clients, including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and potentially attestation or tax services. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Proactively identify and address client needs, providing timely and accurate information.

Manage client expectations and project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.

Occasional onsite work at client locations, as needed, to build rapport and provide direct support.

Oversee full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Perform month-end and year-end close procedures with meticulous attention to detail.

Assist with financial statement reviews and compilations (attestation services).

Prepare and review tax returns and filings for corporate, individual, and others.

Research and interpret tax laws and regulations, providing informed guidance to clients.

Provide expert consultation on accounting and tax matters, offering strategic recommendations.

Assist clients in establishing and optimizing accounting and tax processes.

Respond to client inquiries with clarity and expertise.

Identify and implement process improvements within client operations and internal workflows.

Assist with the implementation of new accounting software and systems.

Collaborate with Managers and Senior Managers, providing support and insights.

Mentor and guide junior team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or 5 years in private accounting.

Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Willingness to work overtime during peak periods.

Ability to travel within the local area to client sites.

Japanese and English bilingual skills (advanced to business).
