Airframe Structures Engineer
AVEX in New Iberia, Louisiana is looking for an Airframe Structures Engineer to perform Liaison Engineering for MRO / major airline (121 carrier). Responsibilities: Validate repair data or modification designs, specify and/or develop technical specifications for repairs using SRM / OEM data Promote reliability and economic utilization of resources while keeping with federal aviation regulations and manufacturer's published data. Participate or lead an engineering liaison group for the MRO and research, or validate data passed on to airlines or OEM for final repair approvals Train / consult with structures technicians and supervision to establish acceptable / approved repair schemes Assist the Structures department to understand any data produced that creates uncertainty (Help Desk) Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aero, Mechanical, or similar) is required. Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience. Must have experience with modifications and repairs at an MRO, Airline or STC holder Airframe and/or Powerplant license(s) preferred. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Must have strong analytical, communication and technical writing skills. Computer skill on CAD or other program to graphically communicate specified repair data on sketches or drawings Must be familiar with aircraft fasteners intent and design Familiar with Boeing SRM This position requires onsite / on aircraft personal presence to validate any reported conditions Aircraft engineering experience in the design, analysis and repair of aircraft structure preferred.
