Legal Residency Counselor
The Legal Residency Counselor will assist the Director of Legal Residencies Program. Duties/Responsibilities: Engaging in individual counseling sessions with JD law students seeking legal residencies/externships Seeking high quality legal residency placement and practical training opportunities for students that best fit their educational and career goals Vetting and approving legal residency placements to assure a quality educational experience for students Conducting site visits and evaluating legal residency field placements as needed Maintaining contact with both students and legal residency field placements Maintaining data and records for program compliance Attending weekly meetings with the Director of Legal Residencies Other duties as assigned by the Director of Legal Residencies Requirements: Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: J.D. from an accredited law school. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated skill at working collaboratively. Strong interest in all aspects of legal practice and the profession. Excellent interpersonal skills, including great listening skills and ability to work with students at times of high stress in their lives. Legal practice experience (preferred but not required).
